New York City Education Program
As with the Residencies, our vocalists “give back” to the community, performing for high-risk, low-income youth grades 1 to 12. Youth are also invited to attend the Marilyn Horne Foundation’s recitals for free . In 2006-2007 the MHF reached 1,202 NYC youth through 14 presentations. High-risk schools are selected in collaboration with Education Through Music. In addition, the MHF works with several local schools.
Marilyn Horne Foundation education programs nationwide are made possible by grants from the Claire Giannini Fund and in New York by the New York Department of Cultural Affairs.
